BATTERSEA'S BIG TOP DRAW

The Winter Decorative Antiques and Textiles Fair from 24-29 January, 2012 in The Marquee in Battersea Park, London SW opens with a full house of more than one hundred and forty inspirational exhibitors, dealers in unusual and practical period furniture for connoisseurs, painted pieces and country chic for relaxed living areas; fabulous lighting and mirrors; textiles and upholstered chairs, original vintage glass and ceramics as well as highly collectable named designer furniture of the 20th century.

The event has a loyal following of the best decorative dealers in the country including Core One dealers Christopher Edwards and Andrew Webb who will be showing a pair of Mark Brazier-Jones candlesticks c 1990 from a selection at their Core One Antiques showroom.

Two more Core One residents will be on show at Battersea – returning from the autumn fair will be Orlando Harris of JW Blanchard and making a debut Richard Steenberg who will bring a selection of country house pieces including a Howard and Sons deep-seated 'Henley' armchair, circa 1910, labelled and stamped.

Orlando is known the world over for its unusual mix of Continental, English country house and C20th pieces and will bring a selection from his eclectic stock including a set of four unusual French chairs in steel, having a nice old blue patination c. 1890.
